Not only could a gun go off during a jimmying, but it's also a presumption of guilt. Sure if it's a marketable idea it will be there until it hurts innocent people by accidental use of the owner, but as a safety law it's just plane silly. Also who's to say a gun owner won't attack and kill an innocent person trying to open the lock on his or her gun.
